About ETLA
Founded in 2021, the European Trade Lawyers Association (ETLA) is a Brussels-based association bringing together legal practitioners, academics, and students with a strong interest in EU and international trade law.
We hold ourselves to high standards
With a community of approximately 200 members, ETLA provides a platform for informed exchange and debate on the legal, economic, and policy dimensions of global trade. Our members come from a wide range of professional and academic backgrounds, united by a shared focus on trade remedies, market access, WTO law, and the evolving EU trade framework.
ETLA meets three times per year for in-person events in Brussels, offering high-level panel discussions, expert insights, and valuable networking opportunities.
Through these meetings, we foster dialogue, share practical experience, and encourage engagement across generations of trade law professionals. ETLA aims to be an open, dynamic forum at the heart of Europe’s trade law community.
